Gilman Promoted to Group Publisher of Travel Group
September 02, 2008 Bonnier Corp. CEO Terry Snow has announced the promotion of Sue Gilman to Group Publisher of the company's Travel Group. The brands Gilman will be responsible for include Caribbean Travel & Life, Destination Weddings & Honeymoons, Islands, Resorts & Great Hotels and Meeting Traveler. "Sue's record of success and innovation in her career make her uniquely suited to take this prominent role," said Snow. "Our travel brands are established and well-known consumer and business-to-business magazines that will benefit greatly from Sue's vision and ability to create integrated packages for marketers." Gilman brings more than 20 years of sales and publishing experience to this new position. Over the past 12 years, as publisher of Caribbean Travel & Life, Gilman has positioned the title as a must-buy for both advertisers and for Caribbean travelers. For the past three years she has also established Destination Weddings & Honeymoons as the travel magazine for brides and grooms. Before her work at Caribbean Travel & Life, she was the founding publisher of Sport Diver, Bonnier's scuba-diving magazine. "We have the most unique group of targeted travel titles, and our goal is to be the number-one source for travel and destination information in the world," said Gilman. "I'm excited about the opportunity to build these brands and continue to increase our reach. In print, web and events, the travel market is truly dynamic. Everyone wants to travel these days, and our inspiring, informative brands will help people go places. " Caribbean Travel & Life is published nine times a year, Islands comes out eight times a year and Destination Weddings & Honeymoons is a five-times-a-year publication. Resorts & Great Hotels is biannual. Meeting Traveler, an annual, is tied to the very successful Private Meeting Summit, which brings representatives of hotel and resort properties together with the travel industry's most prominent meeting and incentive professionals. |
